Seasonal Sustainability Coordinator

(4 Month Contract: May 2026 - August 2026)

The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to work from May to August 2026 within the City’s Community Development department. The successful applicant will be an independent, energetic individual, eager to assist with required and discretionary programs and initiatives related to climate, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.

The City offers a competitive salary of $20.00 per hour, up to 35 hours of work per week throughout the contract term.

Reporting to the Director of Community Development, this position is responsible for assisting the department with tasks such as the Mandatory Broader Public Sector (BPS) reporting to the Ministry of Energy and Mines, monthly energy reporting, yearly energy forecasting and utility audits, assisting with environmental stewardship programs in conjunction with OBVT and the Director of Environmental Services, and assisting, planning, and implementing other initiatives that align with inter-departmental strategic environmental priorities.

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• Enrolled in and returning to a post-secondary program (College or University) in Environmental Studies, Engineering, Climate Change or related discipline;
• ·Established skills in analytical report writing, policy planning and program implementation;
• Valid Province of Ontario Class G license;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
• Demonstrated proficient computer skills particularly with Microsoft Word and Outlook; and
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
