EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

$25.88-28.96/ hour
40 hours per week
The City of Temiskaming Shores is currently seeking a motivated, team-oriented, and skilled individual to join our team as an Equipment Operator within the Public Works department.
Role and Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of municipal equipment.
- Must perform winter road maintenance tasks such as plowing, sanding and salting when needed.
- Responsible for loading and unloading trucks using appropriate mechanisms to safely perform tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist with seasonal preparation on relevant equipment as required.
- Accurately maintain daily equipment usage records.
- Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment.
- Safely perform general labour tasks as needed.
- Adhere to all housekeeping procedures and report any suspected issues with equipment.
- Responsible to understand, support and adhere to all Municipal safety policies and procedures. Furthermore, must adhere to all Ministry of Transportation regulations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Must possess a valid Province of Ontario Class “DZ” driver’s licence with a proven acceptable driving record.
- Must be willing to be trained to obtain Water / Wastewater Certifications.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience.
