The Beamline Operator Role
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the beam line equipment. This role includes moving, positioning, and processing heavy materials and structural components according to production specification. Operate beam line machinery to cut, drill, weld, and process beams and other structural components.
The operator ensures all operations meet safety standards and quality requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate beam line machinery to cut, drill, weld, and process beams and other structural components.
- Align components using clamp pieces, straight edge and square levels
- Monitor equipment for proper operation and adjust settings as needed to ensure quality results.
- Load and unload materials from the beam line
- Secure materials using appropriate rigging and support equipment to prevent movement during handling.
- Inspect processed materials and structural components for adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Make adjustments or corrections as needed to meet production requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct pre-operation checks on equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure safe operation.
- Report any malfunctions or safety hazards to the management team
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Identifying hazards or potential hazards
- Other job duties as required
Requirements & Skills
- Previous experience operating beam line equipment is preferred. On-the-job training may be provided.
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, level etc.)
- Understanding of load charts, beam processing techniques, and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in different environments
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Our Work Schedule is 44 hours per week
Monday's-Thursday's - 7am-5pm
Friday's - 7am-1pm
