The Township of Evanturel is seeking a Road Superintendent within the Transportation Department to join our Team. Reporting to Council, the Road Superintendent is responsible for the planning, organizing, and management of all maintenance and construction activities of the Transportation Department and Solid Waste Operations, Waste Collection & Disposal and Recycling. In conjunction with leadership and management, the Road Superintendent shall perform the duties of an Equipment Operator.
The successful candidate will provide effective advice to Council in developing and implementing  departmental policies and objectives and provide effective leadership to staff.

The ideal candidate would possess:
• Minimum OSSD graduate or equivalency
• Experience in road construction and maintenance operations.
• Experience in a supervisory role with demonstrated skills in preparing and monitoring budgets, employee supervision, and public relations;
• Knowledge of traffic control procedures, construction, maintenance, road and fleet techniques and practices.
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations such as Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM), Highway Traffic Act (HTA), Municipal Act, Technical Standards and Safety Act (TSSA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web applications, digital tools and devices, etc.
• Capable of identifying problems or troubleshooting with the ability to make sound decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills; to deal effectively and with courtesy in all aspects of the position; to foster the team.
• Available for emergency, holidays and after hours as required.
• First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License Class “D” with “Z” endorsement in good standing with experience operating heavy equipment.
• Courses in T.J. Mahoney Road School and/or C. S. Anderson Road School; including the completion of/or ability to complete Certified Road Supervisor considered an asset.

The Municipality offers a competitive benefits package and salary range of $67,724.80 to $73,444.80 which will be commensurate with qualifications and/or experience.
