B&G Industrial Services Ltd. is looking for a motivated and dependable General Labourer to join our team. This is a hands-on position supporting our welding and fabrication operations with an opportunity to develop your skills and grow into a Welder and/or Welder-Fitter role.

OPPORTUNITY TO GROW

This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in the welding and metal fabrication industry. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn from experienced tradespeople, gain hands-on experience and develop the skills needed to advance into a Welder and/or Welder-Fitter position.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

Wage: $45,000 – $55,000 per year 

Overtime: Paid in accordance with Ontario Employment Standards Act

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Prepare, move and organize materials for fabrication and production
• Assist Welder-Fitters with daily shop activities
• Perform general shop housekeeping, including sweeping and maintaining clean work areas
• Operate shop equipment and tools as trained and authorized
• Perform general station and equipment maintenance
• Assist with material handling, loading and unloading
• Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks as skills develop
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures and safe work practices
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
• Complete other general labour and shop duties as required

REQUIREMENTS 

• Previous welding experience or interest in pursuing welding is considered an asset
• Previous industrial, construction, fabrication or shop experience is an asset but not required
• Basic understanding of hand and power tools is an asset
• Willingness to learn welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to safely lift, move and handle materials
• Good attendance, reliability and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace safety

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Industrial fabrication shop setting
• Exposure to noise, heat, dust and steel fabrication equipment
• Occasional overtime and emergency call-ins may be required
• PPE is mandatory at all times
