LOADER OPERATOR

We are currently seeking a Loader Operator to join our operations team.

Position Summary:
The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, movement, and storage of materials throughout the yard. This role supports production activities by ensuring proper inventory organization, maintaining a clean and accessible yard, completing equipment checks, and safely operating machinery. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities
Yard Operations & Housekeeping
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient yard.
• Keep yard areas clear of snow, ice and debris; apply sand/salt as needed
• Ensure all entrances, exit, and travel routes remain accessible at all times
• Organize and store off-cuts and other materials in designated locations.

Material Handling & Inventory
• Load and unload shipments in a safe and timely manner.
• Organize and stage materials to support production schedules and job requirements.
• Track material usage, inventory levels and re-order requirements.
• Ensure proper traceability and labeling of all materials.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance
• Operate the loader and other yard equipment safely and according to company procedures
• Complete daily equipment inspections and logbook entries
• Identify maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
• Follow all equipment operating guidelines and safety protocols

General Duties
• Assist with basic carpentry or fabrication tasks (e.g., building boxes or pallets).
• Maintain high standards of workmanship in all areas.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and support coworkers as needed.

Qualifications - Valid Drivers licence (DZ licence considered an asset), 2 -5 years experience in a related field, Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.

Job Type & Salary
Full time, permanent. Salary range $65,000 – 80,000 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Benefits: Health plan and retirement plan available after successfully completing 3 months
